Josiah Brown was 3-for-5 with two runs, a RBI, a double and a stolen base for for St. Joseph (8-7), which scored in each of the last five innings. Joseph Zammitti went 2-for-3 with a walk and two RBI, Robbie Carvelli was 2-for-4 with a hit by pitch and a run, and Connor Drury scored two runs. Matthew Friedman had two RBI and was the winning pitcher, striking out two over six innings, allowing one run, four hits, two walks and two hit batsmen.
Dom Massaro scored the lone South Plainfield (6-9) run.

St. Joseph 8, South Plainfield 1
Matthew Friedman stopped South Plainfield’s hitters and the Falcons erupted for 13 hits highlighted by Mark Gialluisi’s home run in the key Red Division game.
The visiting Falcons improved to 6-5 in the division and 8-7 overall. Friedman allowed a run in six innings off of four hits and two walks and also singled and drove in two runs.
Gialluisi went 3-for-5 with two RBI, a home run and a pair of doubles. Josiah Brown finished 3-for-5 with a double and RBI and Joseph Zammitti went 2-for-3 with two RBI. Also having big days were Tyler Delvecchio (2-for-4, double, run), Matthew Kosuda (single, RBI, run) and Connor Drury (single, two runs scored).
Mason Cinca finished with a scoreless inning and a strikeout.
For South Plainfield (6-9, 5-7), Ashton Donovan, Dan Kapsch, Brandon Bickunas and Kevin Penny each singled.
