Greater Middlesex Conference Tournament seeds released
North Brunswick came out on top in a brutally competitive Greater Middlesex Conference Red Division. The Raiders reward beyond the coveted pennant – the top seed in the GMC Tournament.
The defending champions earned the No. 1 spot in the bracket at Friday’s seeding meeting. Red Division teams claimed the next three spots in No. 2 Old Bridge, No. 3 St. Joseph and fourth-seeded Monroe.
White Division champion Sayreville garnered the No. 5 seed and White Division runner-up Woodbridge is the No. 6 seed and will face Blue Division champion and No. 11 seeded Spotswood in an intriguing second round game.
The tournament begins with Saturday’s first round at the higher seeds and concludes May 20 at East Brunswick Magnet school.
The second round takes place Monday, May 8 at the higher seeds and the quarterfinals are Wednesday, May 10, at North Brunswick Community Park. The winners play in the semifinals on May 13 at East Brunswick Magnet School.
