Old Bridge takes third straight as Crosta continues hot streak
Chris Crosta went 2-for-3 with a triple, three runs scored and two stolen bases to lead Old Bridge to a 9-3 victory over South Plainfield in Matawan.
It was the third straight win for Old Bridge (5-3). Crosta, a senior, has eight hits and four RBIs in those three contests.
Matt Chin drove in three runs on a 3-for-4 performance with two doubles for Old Bridge. Adrian Lutomski contributed three RBIs, while Brady Meyer added an RBI and a stolen base. Michael Chiarella went 2-for-3 with two runs scored.
Erich Schikschenet earned the win on the mound, pitching 4 2/3 innings and allowing two runs on six hits while striking out three. Matt Levitt pitched 2 1/3 scoreless innings in relief, surrendering four hits.
Dom Massaro paced South Plainfield’s offense with four hits. Andrew Bena went 2-for-4 with an RBI and took the loss on the mound, allowing seven runs on 10 hits over 3.2 innings while striking out four.
