Ryan Massett went 2-for-3 with three RBI and a run scored as South Plainfield beat Iselin Kennedy, 4-1, in Iselin.
TJ Massaro also had an RBI while Rob Gonzalez picked up two hits for the Tigers, which scored all four runs in the top of the fourth inning. On the mound, Billy Keane pitched a complete game three-hitter allowing just three walks as well and one unearned run. He also struck out seven.
South Plainfield outhit the Mustangs, 8-3.

South Plainfield 4, J.F. Kennedy 1
Ryan Massett, who finished 2-for-3, belted a three-run homer in the fourth inning when the Tigers (2-0) scored all their runs to complete a regular-season sweep of the vastly improved Mustangs (0-3).
Rob Gonzalez went 2-for-4 with a run scored, while South Plainfield teammates Sammy Nieves and TJ Massaro each singled and scored a run.
Winning pitcher Billy Keane hurled a complete-game three-hitter, fanning seven and walking three. The run he allowed was unearned, scoring on one of South Plainfield’s three errors. Keane threw 95 pitches.
Connor Adams and Mike Marrero each had a hit for the Tigers. Lou Truppa (1-for-1) scored J.F. Kennedy’s lone run.
Losing pitcher Zack Schneider, who was impressive in a season-opening setback to South Plainfield on Saturday, allowed four earned runs on six hits and three walks over five innings.
Anthony Hein pitched two innings of scoreless relief for the Mustangs, who received hits from TJ Rivera and Mike Hein.
