2026 - Projected seeds for 2026 baseball state tourney ahead of Tuesday’s brackets

  The cutoff date for the NJSIAA baseball state tournament was on Saturday at midnight, which takes us quickly to Tuesday’s seeding and then into the start of tournament play, which begins on May 26.
  The NJ.com baseball staff takes an early peek into what the sectional brackets could look like, based on power points right after the cutoff.
  
  

  These projected seeds for the sectional playoff brackets are based on guidelines in the NJSIAA’s regulations. These are NJ Advance Media’s predictions and not official seedings. We are not taking into account teams possibly opting out of the tournament or other adjustments or rulings the seeding committee might make and of which we’re not made aware before Tuesday.

  Power points are being used to qualify the teams in each sectional bracket. Here’s a reminder of a few finer points, directly from the NJSIAA’s document on this year’s power point procedure.
  
  PowerPoint Procedure:The PowerPoints earned from each game are based on the sum of Quality Points and Residual Points, which is then multiplied by a strength of schedule factor (OOWP). The sum of each game’s power points will then be averaged, and the result will be your team’s PowerPoints. All PowerPoints will be rounded to three (3) decimal places where applicable.
