Junior right-hander Ashton Donovan threw 5 2/3 scoreless innings with four strikeouts, scattering seven hits and four walks in the win.

Chase Donovan threw the last 1 1/3 innings for South Plainfield (12-13).

Julian Irizarry and Luke Bickunas each singled and drove in runs and Jayden Alvarez was 2-for-3. Tyler Balent also singled and scored.

For Sayreville (7-16), Michael Colonnello, Jaydon Stio and Matt Corby each had two hits.

In the 55th hour of a 3 day bear, Foreman Balent provided the spark the crew desperately needed to get the job done. Realizing their was a power outage, the Foreman took charge, dropped one down the line, which then opened things up allowing the crew to finish the 72 hour gig.
