Game #14 South Painfield 6 Middlesex 4

Dylan O'Connor doubled and drove in two runs to lead South Plainfield over Middlesex, 6-4, in South Plainfield.

Mike Stanczak and Connor Adams drove in a run and scored a run apiece while Rob Gonzalez singled and drove in a run for South Plainfield, which scored five runs in the bottom of the fourth inning after allowing four in the top.

Billy Keane and Chris Shine singled and scored a run apiece while Jared Marks scored once for South Plainfield, which stranded seven runners on base.

South Plainfield 6, Middlesex 4

The Tigers rallied for five runs in the home fourth to erase a 4-1 deficit and hand the Blue Jays (13-2) just their second loss of the season.

Dylan O’Connor highlighted the outburst with a two-run double. South Plainfield teammate Mike Stanczak went 2-for-4 on the day with an RBI and a run. Connor Adams, Jean Sapini, Billy Keane and Chris Shine each had a hit and scored.

Winning pitcher Mike Marrero hurled three and a third scoreless innings. He scattered three hits, fanned one and did not walk a batter. Rob Gonzalez started for South Plainfield.

Jack Hnylycia went 1-for-3 with a run scored and an RBI for Middlesex, while teammates Mike Salerno and Matt Carovillano each had a hit and a run.

Carovillano and Nick DiMaggio each doubled for the Blue Jays, who scored four times in the top of the fourth inning to erase a 1-0 deficit.

Middlesex was outhit 8-4 and committed four defensive miscues that resulted in four unearned runs.

Patrick Kannaley went the distance on the mound for the Blue Jays. He fanned three and walked one in a 100-pitch effort.

Quincy West scored for Middlesex.
