Game #8 North Brunswick 7 South Plainfield 6

Danny Reardon hit a home run to go 2-for-3 with two runs and an RBI to help lift North Brunswick to a 7-6 comeback victory over South Plainfield in North Brunswick.

Down 6-4, North Brunswick scored three runs in the bottom of the seventh inning.

Eric Vasquez pitched a nine-hitter with four walks and three strikeouts, while Andrew Tan went 2-for-4 with an RBI. Ryan Breheney went 2-for-3 with a run and two RBI for North Brunswick.

Jean Sapini allowed eight hits over 6 2/3 innings with no walks and seven strikeouts, while Mike Stanczak hit a home run to go 2-for-4 with a run and three RBI. Billy Keane went 2-for-3 with an RBI, while Connor Adams went 3-for-4 with two runs for South Plainfield.

North Brunswick 7, South Plainfield 6

The Raiders extended their winning streak to three games with an impressive victory over the Tigers and ace Jean Sapini, who entered the contest without having yielded an earned run all year.

Danny Reardon went 2-for-3 with a homer and scored twice for North Brunswick, which erased a 6-4 deficit with a three-run rally in the bottom of the seventh. The Raiders trailed 5-0 earlier in the game.

Ryan Breheney led off the seventh with a double. Christian Petrillo followed with a single. Justin Garcia legged out a bunt single on which a throwing error allowed Breheny and Petrillo to score and Garcia to advance all the way to third. Tan plated the winning run with an RBI single to left-center.
Winning pitcher Eric Vasquez scattered nine hits, walked four and fanned three. Tan (2-for-4) provided offensive support.

Ryan Breheney (2-for-3 with a triple) scored and delivered two RBI for North Brunswick.

Sapini, who entered the contest having not allowed an earned run, yielded eight hits and fanned seven without issuing a walk over six and two thirds innings. Only three of the runs against him were earned.

Mike Stanczak went 2-for-4 with a homer and three RBI for South Plainfield, while teammates Billy Keane (2-for-3) and Connor Adams (3-for-4) combined for two run and an RBI.
