South Plainfield Gets the Win
Baseball Recap: South Plainfield Tigers vs. Monroe Township Falcons
South Plainfield proved they can win big on Wednesday (they won by six) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Monroe Township Falcons, sneaking past 4-2. This was a revenge game for the Tigers: when they faced off against the Falcons on Tuesday, they had to take a 6-4 defeat.
South Plainfield is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for Monroe Township, their loss dropped their record down to 4-4.
Coming up, South Plainfield will take on Woodbridge at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Barrons will roll in looking for their ninth straight victory, something the Tigers surely won't give up without a fight. As for Monroe Township, they will face off against Old Bridge at 10:00 a.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Falcons 4, the Knights 3.8) so any runs scored will be well earned.
