WOODBRIDGE 17, SOUTH PLAINFIELD 8: Dan Kacsmar tossed 6 2/3 innings, striking out seven while allowing two walks and 11 hits, to get the win for 10th-ranked Woodbridge (1-0). Elvis Alvarez went 3-for-3 with a triple and four runs scored and Steve Sepa smacked two doubles and drove in four runs for the Barrons. For third-ranked South Plainfield (0-1), Stephen Petriello went 2-for-3 with two doubles.
