Sean Erhardt went 1-for-2 with two RBI to lead third-seed South Plainfield to an 8-0 win over sixth-seed Ferris in the quarterfinal round of the North Jersey, Section 2, Group 2 tournament in South Plainfield.
Kyle Dickerson went 3-for-4 with two runs for South Plainfield. Bryan Gillen went 2-for-3 with an RBI and two runs in the win.

North 2 Group III quarterfinals

South Plainfield 8, Ferris 0: Kyle Dickerson went 3-for-4 with two runs scored and Sean Erhardt drove in two runs to pace third-seeded South Plainfield over sixth-seeded Ferris in the North 2 Group III quarterfinals. Bryan Gillen went 2-for-3 with an RBI and two runs scored for the Tigers. Jake Alba scattered seven hits and struck out nine in seven innings for South Plainfield (19-8). The Tigers will take on second-seeded Roxbury in the semifinals.
