Jake Alba pitched six innings, allowing one run while walking three and striking out seven in South Plainfield 2-1 win over Bishop Ahr in South Plainfield.

Jack Gillis and Rickey Pellegrino scored one run apiece for South Plainfield, which scored single runs in the first and third to take a 2-0 lead.

Nick Polizzano came on in relief for Alba, pitching one inning and striking out one.

Nick Polizzano went 1-for-2 with an RBI double while Dave Tavarex went 2-for-3 with a single and a double for South Plainfield. Winning pitcher Jake Alba notched six strikeouts, walked two and scattered five hits in six innings. Polizzano pitched a 1-2-3 seventh for the save. Andrew Brazicki went 2-for-3 for Bishop Ahr. Rich Albrecht pitched six innings with eight strikeouts, two walks and one hit batter.
