Kyle McSorley homered and drove in three runs and Justin Hascup delivered a strong start as Old Bridge remains atop the Red Division standings along with North Brunswick.
The Knights (11-3, 6-3) led 3-2 and sealed the win with five runs in the bottom of the sixth. Hascup allowed two earned runs in 6 1/3 innings with three strikeouts. Evan Smith finished the game.
Mike Villani doubled twice with an RBI and scored and Thomas Papeo went 2-for-3 (3 runs, RBI). Having a hit apiece were John Smith (RBI, run), Evan Smith (RBI), Shaun Bogda (run) and Akhil Penkala (run). Frank Papeo also drove in a run.
For South Plainfield (4-8, 3-6), Brandon Bickunas went 2-for-4 and Jayden Alvarez and Dom Massaro each singled with an RBI. Dan Kapsch, Ashton Donovan and Kevin Penny each had a hit.
