Dan Hansen (2-0) scattered five hits, struck out five and walked three and aided his cause by driving in three runs for South Plainfield (2-1) in South Plainfield. Hansen poked a two-run double and Quinn Cochrane singled home a run as South Plainfield took a 3-0 lead in the first inning. Hansen added an RBI single in the fourth as South Plainfield expanded its lead to 5-0. SOUTH PLAINFIELD 5, NORTH BRUNSWICK 3: Senior lefty Dan Hansen pitched a complete-game five-hitter. He fanned five and walked three. Hansen had a single, double and three RBI. Sophomore designated hitter Quinn Cochrane had a double and an RBI for South Plainfield (2-1).
Cleanup hitter Steven Hock hit a three-run homer for North Brunswick (3-1) in the sixth to produce the final margin.
