Papa earns NJAC Rookie Pitcher of the Week honors after recording his first two collegiate saves during back-to-back appearances for the Red Hawks. He first tossed three innings of scoreless relief while striking out two for the first save of his MSU career in a 5-1 non-conference win over DeSales. Four days later in his first NJAC appearance, he secured the final four outs of the game without allowing a base runner to garner the save in the Red Hawks’ 8-5 game two conference win over Rutgers-Camden. Papa currently ranks tied for sixth in the NJAC in saves (2).
