South Plainfield 3, A.L. Johnson 2 (8 inn): Justin Marks went 2-for-3 with a double and Jeff Pellegrino reached base twice and scored twice as South Plainfield staved off ALJ in the GMC/Union County Autism Awareness Challenge at North Brunswick Community Park.
Pellegrino picked up the win in relief, tossing two scoreless innings while fanning two. Tigers starter Kyle Dickerson went six innings and allowed two earned run on six hits, walked two and struck out six.
Mike Boulanger was the hard-luck loser for ALJ. He surrendered one earned run over four hits and struck out 13.
