South Plainfield 6, North Brunswick 3: Nick Muglia’s two-run homer snapped a 3-3 deadlock in the top of the eighth. The Tigers (5-3) added an insurance run. Joe Manley’s solo homer in the sixth sent the game into extra innings. North Brunswick (2-5) starting pitcher Mike Pfeiffer, who yielded one earned run and fanned five over seven innings, went 2-for-3 with a triple and a run scored. South Plainfield (5-3) ace A.J. Celentano fanned seven before being lifted in the seventh with one away. Aiden McDermott went 2-for-4 for the Tigers. He led off the eighth with a double and scored two runs.
