South Plainfield wins behind Boyle's one-hitter




Patrick Boyle (3-1) pitched a one-hit complete game and Tim O’Leary’s two-run, two-out single in the bottom of the sixth was the difference on the scoreboard and South Plainfield beat Monroe 2-1.
South Plainfield (9-4) won its third straight and sixth out of seven. Boyle struck out seven and walked four. Aidan McDermott was 2-for-3 with a run scored for the Tigers.
Jeff Htam had Monroe’s hit.
