Mike Stanczak went 3-for-4 with two
RBI and three runs scored while finishing a triple shy of hitting for the cycle
to help the Tigers (4-6) snap a three-game losing streak.
Winning pitcher Billy Keane went the distance, allowing five runs (four
earned) on eight hits and one walk while fanning seven in a 106-pitch
effort.
Keane helped his own cause, going 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI. Five
teammates recorded one hit apiece including Mike Marrero and Chris Shine (two
RBI), who each scored twice.
South Plainfield scored three times in the first and rallied for five more
runs in the second to build an 8-0 lead.
Danny Reardon went 3-for-4 with two runs for North Brunswick (6-4), which
had a three-game winning streak (including a 4-2 victory over South Plainfield)
snapped.
Kelson Hopson belted a homer and plated three runs for the Raiders, while
teammate Andrew Tan went 2-for-4 with a run scored.
Damian Ortiz singled and scored in a losing effort. The teams combined for
18 hits, seven errors and six walks.
