Winning pitcher Joe Muccilli scattered
six hits over seven innings as the Barrons limited the Tigers to one run for the
second straight day to complete a series sweep.
South Plainfield (9-9, 6-6) entered the series on a five-game winning
streak, during which the Tigers scored 44 runs, an average of 8.8 per
contest.
The Barrons (12-5, 5-4) scored in the fourth inning to forge a 1-1 tie and
plated the winning run in the sixth.
Woodbridge was outhit 6-2. Michael Medvetz and Tom O’Halloran each scored a
run for the Barrons, while teammate Jacob Kreusch delivered an RBI as a pinch
hitter. Darren Gonzalez and O’Halloran had Woodbridge’s hits.
Hard-luck losing pitcher Billy Keane fanned seven and walked three. Both
runs scored against him were earned.
Michael Marrero went 3-for-4 for South Plainfield, while teammates Mike
Stanczak, Niko Vasquez and Chris Born each had a hit. TJ Massaro scored the
Tigers’ lone run.
Muccilli walked two and fanned two while throwing 97 pitches.
Woodbridge has won six of its last eight.

Joe Muccilli pitched a six-hitter and allowed one run while striking out two and walking two to lead Woodbridge to a 2-1 victory against South Plainfield in South Plainfield.
Tom Ohalloran and Michael Medvetz added a run apiece and Jacob Kreusch knocked in a run for Woodbridge.
