PLAYER TO WATCH
Middlesex took the field for Monday's Greater Middlesex Conference game against Bishop Ahr having scored a whopping 76 runs over its last four games, an average of 19 per, and Jordan Carter was a big part of that offensive explosion. The senior outfielder slugged at least one home run in each of those games and hit six overall while driving in 18 runs over the four-game span.He began the onslaught by hitting two home runs and picking up the victory in an 18-8 victory over South River. He followed that by blasting a three-run shot and a grand slam, driving in a total of eight runs, in a 20-3 triumph over Spotswood. Middlesex played a pair of mercy-rule outings on Saturday and Carter homered in each of those as well. For the season Carter is hitting .426 with nine home runs and 34 RBI, although he's certainly not alone in the potent Middlesex lineup. Freshman Tommy Marcinczyk's batting average has hovered around the .600 mark all season while Chris Petiya (six RBI vs. South Amboy Saturday), Ray Lang, Kevin Olah and Kyle Dotey are all hitting above .400. Carter is not be the only big bat for Middlesex; he's just the hottest.
