Sophomore catcher Steven Petriello went 3-for-4 with a solo home run, and senior shortstop Mark Benak went 2-for-3 with three runs scored and a solo homer as South Plainfield improved to 25-2.
Junior center fielder Brandon Downes went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs for the Tigers.

Dylan Papa (4-1) tossed three shutout innings, striking out six without issuing a walk, to claim the victory. John Nigro collected two of the six hits for Carteret (10-16).
