South Plainfield 12, Woodbridge 9
Woodbridge scored five runs in the top of the first inning, but South Plainfield was able to overcome the early deficit for the White Division win.
The Tigers ( 10-2-1 overall, 8-1-1- in division) scored a run in the first and five in the bottom of the second to take a 6-5 lead. Undaunted, the Barrons led 8-6 entering the bottom of the fourth.
South Plainfield took the lead for good with four runs in the inning.
Nick Loniewski (3 runs) and Vincent Esposito (2 runs, RBI) each had three hits in the win. Brandon Shine had a 2-for-2 day (RBI, run) and Troy O'Connor (RBI, run), Austin Scott and Kennedy Ferguson (2 runs) each contributed with a hit.
Vincent Esposito (5 innings) and Mitch Dudak (2 innings) combined on the win.
For Woodbridge (9-4, 6-4), Matt Troche slugged a home run and was 2-for-4 (2 RBI) and Tom O'Halloran finished 3-for-4 with two runs scored.
Having two hits apiece were Matt Medvetz (2B, RBI, run), Josh Vazquez (run) and Dan Nunez (2 RBI). Chipping in hits were Brandon Schmitt (RBI, run), Carlos Mercado and Brett Lukachyk (2 runs).
