Glenn Kelly and Mike Brownlie each singled home a run in a four-run sixth inning that provided all of the scoring for Edison (9-7) in South Plainfield. Rob Borwegan drove in Edison's first run in the rally with a sacrifice fly while the fourth scored on an infield error. Edison's Mitch D'Amato (4-1) went the distance, striking out nine without issuing a walk and yielding one earned run. South Plainfield (9-7) took the lead in the third by scoring on an outfield error and answered Edison's outburst with a run in the sixth as Steve Petriello doubled and scored on a single by Dan Hansen. South Plainfield's Mark Tomei went 2-for-4 with a single and a double.

Senior Mitch D'Amato pitched a complete game, striking out nine without issuing a walk. He allowed one earned run.
South Plainfield (9-7) went ahead in the third, scoring on an outfield error and cut its deficit to 4-2 in the sixth when junior Steve Petriello doubled and scored on senior Dan Hansen's single. Junior Mark Tomei went 2-for-4 with a single and a double for the Tigers.
