Quinn Cochrane singled home Brandon Downes from third in the top of the 10th inning as South Plainfield (17-7) extended its winning streak to eight games with the regular-season victory in Toms River. Downes reached first on his third walk of the evening, the first two being intentional. Steve Petriello had a two-run double to account for South Plainfield's other runs as Nick DeMarco (3-0) earned the victory in relief. Toms River South (15-6) is ranked No. 9 in The Star-Ledger Top 20.
