Dan Hansen's three-run triple in the fifth snapped a 2-2 deadlock as South Plainfield (13-7) ran its winning streak to a season-long four games Tuesday night at TD Bank Ballpark in Bridgewater. Hansen added an RBI single in the seventh, while Brandon Downes went 2-for-4, stole four bases and scored twice. Tommy Bowden (2-4) pitched 5 1/3 innings to post the victory and closer Nick DeMarco relieved for the seventh time in South Plainfield's last eight games. Kennedy (6-14) tied the score at 2-2 with two runs in the fourth when Nolan Emme walked with the bases loaded to force in the first run and Eric Giordano, who also doubled and walked twice, hit a sacrifice fly

SOUTH PLAINFIELD 8, JOHN F. KENNEDY 2:

Senior first baseman Dan Hansen hit a bases-loaded triple to break a 2-2 tie in the fifth for the Tigers (13-7) at TD Bank Ballpark. Hansen went 2-for-4 with an RBI single in the seventh. Senior center fielder Brandon Downes went 2-for-4 with four stolen bases and two runs scored. Junior righty Tommy Bowden went 5 1/3 in his start to get the win. He improved to 2-4, striking out two, walking five and allowing six hits.
Senior Eric Giordano went 1-for-2 with two walks for John F. Kennedy.
