Bryan Gillen finished 4-for-5 with a home run, two runs and two RBI and South Plainfield broke through in extra innings with five runs in the top of the ninth en route to a 9-5 triumph over Westfield in Westfield.
Chris Graves went 3-for-5 with two RBI and L.J. Scarpitto also drove in a pair for South Plainfield, which got the win from Nick Polizzano who threw two innings in relief of Jake Alba. Polizzano also had two hits and two runs.
Tied 4-4 after seven innings, South Plainfield took the lead with five runs in the ninth. Westfield scored once in the bottom half of the inning to cut the deficit to four.

South Plainfield 9, Westfield 5: The Tigers scored five runs in the top of the ninth and allowed just one in the bottom of the frame for an extra-inning win.
Bryan Gillen went 4-for-5 with a homer and two doubles as the Tigers (7-5) outhit the Blue Devils 15-11 in a slugfest.
Winning pitcher Nick Polizzano, Sean Erhardt and Jack Gillis contributed two hits apiece to the victory.
Chris Graves went 3-for-4 for South Plainfield, while teammate L.J. Scarpitto had two RBI.
South Plainfield's John Alba, who fanned seven and allowed eight hits over six innings, earned a no-decision.
Westfield (3-9) plated a run in the seventh to make the score 4-4.
