The NJSIAA baseball state tournament is finally here. Teams were seeded just a few days ago, giving us all a peek at what the most exciting time of the season will look like.
There are still several county and conference tournament championships to be played this week, but the cream of the crop has already ramped up their successful play in preparation for the postseason.
State Tournament:
14-South Plainfield (19-5-1)
Last week: No. 11
Here’s why: South Plainfield came up just short of winning the Greater Middlesex Conference Tournament championship, losing to Old Bridge in the championship game. South Plainfield will now look to put that loss behind them as it gears up for the state tournament where coach Scott Gleichenhaus’s team is the No. 1 seed in North 2, Group 3.
